Tiger Sharks cruise at Reid Sacco Invitational

Forty-four swimmers from the Greater Manchester YMCA Tiger Sharks were among swimmers from twelve teams that competed in the annual Reid Sacco Invitational at the Sterling Center in Beverly, MA, from November 13 through November 15.

Several 8 & under swimmers had strong performances during the meet. Vivien Merryfield of Mont Vernon placed eighth in the 50 Breaststroke, chopping close to twelve seconds off of her previous best time. Maeve Hunt of Weare placed second in the 50 Backstroke, third in the 50 Freestyle and fourth in the 25 Backstroke. Brandon Campbell of Goffstown placed ninth in the 25 Backstroke, while Julian Chun of Bedford took eighth in the 25 Breaststroke. Alex Tjie of Bedford grabbed sixth place in both the 25 Backstroke and the 50 Backstroke.

Nina Levine of Bedford captured first place in three events in the 9-10 age group. Nina swam personal best times in the 100 Freestyle, 50 Butterfly and set a new team record in the 50 Backstroke. In the boys events, Gordon Suwirjo of Derry placed sixth in the 100 Butterfly and Nate Cassily of Manchester took seventh place in the 50 Butterfly.

In the 11 – 12 age group, Olivia Brigagliano of Goffstown cruised to personal best times in each of her six events, including chopping close to 17 seconds of her previous best time in the 100 Breaststroke.  Keelin Kendall of Goffstown took twelfth place in the 100 Breaststroke. In the boys events, Dylan Talbot of Manchester took eighth place in the 100 Butterfly. Bernard Suwirjo of Derry placed tenth in both the 100 Butterfly and the 50 Breaststroke.  Hendrick Suwirjo of Derry placed thirteenth in the 50 Butterfly.

Eva Childers of Henniker took home fourth place in both the 200 Freestyle and the 200 Backstroke and fifth place in the 200 Butterfly and the 100 Freestyle in the 13 -14 age group. Sarah Barrett of Goffstown placed eighth in the 100 Freestyle. In the boys events, Greg Levine of Bedford captured third place in the 200 Butterfly. Elliot Chun of Bedford placed ninth in the 100 Breaststroke.
